So Baroque
This season is anything but boring and mundane. Dramatic at it's best, it's about cascading velvet, gold encrusted jackets, and brocade-everything while adorned in jewels head to toe. Looking more like it belongs on the
throne of a European monarchy rather than the city streets, unless your title is Daphne Guiness or Anna Del Russo (cheers) this is one aesthetic that should be tread carefully. It's easy to come off costum-ey when combining more than one of these elements. If you're going Baroque, extravagant details should be paired down with simple, modern elements. Leather pants with shrunken brocade jackets, black ankle boots with draped velvet, encrusted bustiers with swinging mini skirts and tights are all things to be considered. But of course, when in doubt, go McQueen.

Fall Preview
While most of us still have our toes deep in sand there's a number of us stocking up in cashmere and leather high waisted trousers. Crazy? Absolutely. But it's the smell of those investment heavy Fall pieces that get our wheels churning again and excited about what makes fashion, well...fashion. Coming from a summer daze diving straight into a pile of autumn leaves is a hard transition albeit an exciting one. Dressing the part is just as fun with endless layers, textures, and maintaining bare legs as long as the sun will allow it. This season keep it simple with classic silhouettes in gorgeous fabrics. Dress things up with a sequin T-Shirt over a a-line skirt...leave your cocktail dresses for the Holiday season. Skirts are playful with a school girl attitude, or go long and romantic but with a structural simple jacket on top. Mixing and layering is key, this is the best time of year to be experimental. The time of year your leather uber-mini short-shorts, cropped boots, and cashmere-blend blazer make outright sense.

Not So Heavy Metal
Chains, studs, and grommets are used sparingly here. With a little flash here and there, you can bring a little bling to your look without needing approval from Mr. T. Accessories and jewelry are unnecessary, so when wearing a piece with metal drippings be sure to balance out with crepe de chine or a silk chiffon to soften the look. Pair an embellished leather jacket with a long skirt or if the heat is still on, go mini. Our Thakoon grommet blouse and Louis Vuitton zipper shirt are a lovely way to introduce some steel in your step and topped over leather shorts will polish the ensemble. If you're not ready for full on metal in your garb, a simple chain strap purse is elegant and when paired with embellished heels you'll get the full effect.
