We've Fallen for Fall
Oh Fall, how you have courted me. Gracefully, you showed up one evening after work with the first scarf of the season. While our suburban counterparts are amid a warm rusty palette of falling leaves, our sidewalks are changing from blue jeans to black leathers. So many knits have touched my fingers the last week, as 300 seasonal picks were added to the selection at INA Men. With the influx of fashion came a constant stream of travelers, dropping by to shop or consign one last thing before take-off. With jet setting minds, we couldn't resist rolling around town for the blog this week, featuring some of our favorite INA travel picks. From smart fabric choices that are resilient against "I can fit it all in my carry-on" delusions and iron-less hotel rooms, to space saving accessories and luggage.
When I'm traveling, I usually pack last minute. Whether my travel friendly wardrobe or my packing method came first, I can't recall. Either way, I know that there are a few key pieces in my wardrobe that I will never give up because of their duality. This Equipment blouse is one of those things. It's off-black, so you can match it with any neutral under the sun, it is silk but matte, so it is entirely appropriate from dawn until dusk is far behind you, and it can be worn backwards.
I have an affinity for wearing a conventional item unconventionally, even something as simple as a nice blouse. Give me a ruffled blouse and I will always wear it backwards. Equipment made this blouse so that even someone like me can't wear it wrong. It buttons down the back, with a collar break at the nape of your neck. It's great for a clean look under a jacket and gives an element of surprise when worn on it's own. However, you can wear it whichever way you'd like; front or back.
Paired with the Balenciaga navy blazer above and a skirt makes the perfect power suit, or break up the business with a pair of black skinny jeans to highlight the broad shoulders and otherwise narrow silhouette of this also-outerwear boucle blazer.
I have always wanted to travel in style but have been concerned with the condition of my suitcase. This Pegase 55 from Louis Vuitton came to our store brand new and has everything you need for a business trip; a garment bag for at least two suits or dresses, a few separates, while still, of course, leaving room for shoes. Louis Vuitton updated their carry-on trolley with a side handle that is not only a beautiful pop of blush leather but also makes the bag much more functional for stowing away and everything before and after.
There's nothing more important than comfort when flying, but you don't have to sacrifice your style. Opt for light layers so you'll be cozy on the plane without losing any leg room. These pieces can also be incorporated into your outfit once you're at your final destination, whether you're dressing up or down.
You can't over do a great statement basic, such as the Calvin Klein Collection suit which works as separates, for business, or at night for pleasure. For women, a fashion forward coat can be worn over any outfit to instantly up your style factor. I also pack my favorite accessories to be worn every day while I'm away, such as these wonderful winter fur pieces.
